In God’s Tapestry of Service and Purpose
In the tapestry of life, where threads of purpose intertwine with acts of service, our journey with Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch stands as a testament to the transformative power of faith. It is a story woven with the vibrant hues of compassion, dedication, and an unwavering belief in God’s guiding hand.
Our initial encounter with Shiloh in June 2023 was nothing short of a divine appointment. Drawn by their unwavering commitment to providing a loving and nurturing environment for children in need, we embarked on a missions trip that would forever alter the course of our lives. The ranch’s ambitious vision to expand its reach through the construction of three new homes, each a beacon of hope for to up ten children, resonated deeply within our hearts.
We were immediately captivated by the palpable sense of community that permeated every corner of Shiloh. The dedicated staff, the resilient children, and the unwavering support of volunteers created an atmosphere of warmth and belonging. Witnessing the tireless efforts of individuals from all walks of life, united in their desire to serve God’s purpose, ignited a passion within us that has only grown stronger with time.

Our initial experience at Shiloh left an indelible mark on our souls, and we knew that our connection with this remarkable place was far from over. In early 2024, we were blessed with the opportunity to return as part of a specialized “Dream Team” comprised of skilled tradesmen. Together, we poured our hearts and talents into completing the first of the three new homes, each nail hammered, and each wall painted a testament to our collective dedication to God’s kingdom.
The camaraderie and shared sense of purpose we experienced during this time were truly extraordinary. We worked alongside seasoned professionals, each possessing a unique set of skills and a common desire to contribute to something larger than themselves. The satisfaction of seeing the fruits of our labor take shape, knowing that it would soon provide a safe haven for children in need, filled us with an indescribable joy.
Since then, our involvement with Shiloh has continued to deepen. We have embraced every opportunity to serve, from assisting with electrical wiring to participating in work groups and even house-sitting. Each experience has provided us with a glimpse into the profound impact Shiloh has on the lives of the children entrusted to its care.
We have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of love and stability in the lives of these young hearts. Children who arrived at Shiloh carrying the weight of past hurts and uncertainties have blossomed into confident, resilient individuals, their faces radiating hope and their spirits filled with joy. These precious moments have served as constant reminders of the profound significance of Shiloh’s mission.
Through our ongoing involvement with Shiloh, we have developed a deep appreciation for the dedication and selflessness of the house parents. These extraordinary individuals serve as beacons of light, providing unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love to the children in their care. Their commitment to creating a nurturing and stable home environment has inspired us beyond measure.
After much prayer and reflection, we have discerned a clear calling to dedicate our lives to serving Shiloh full-time. We believe that God has been preparing us for this very moment, and we are filled with a sense of anticipation and excitement as we embark on this new chapter.
Our journey as house parents will begin in January 2025, and we approach this role with a deep sense of humility and responsibility. We recognize that we are stepping into a sacred space, entrusted with the well-being of precious souls. We are committed to creating a home where children feel safe, loved, and valued, a place where they can heal, grow, and discover their God-given potential.
We are under no illusions that this path will be without its challenges. There will be moments of frustration, heartache, and weariness. But we are confident that God will equip us with the strength, wisdom, and compassion needed to navigate these challenges. We will lean on Him for guidance, trusting in His promise to never leave us nor forsake us.
Our decision to become house parents is not simply a career change; it is a calling, a commitment to invest our lives in the lives of others. We are eager to embrace the joys and challenges that lie ahead, knowing that we are playing a small part in God’s grand redemptive story.
As we prepare for this new chapter, we are filled with a sense of gratitude for the countless individuals who have supported us along the way. We are thankful for the Shiloh staff, who have welcomed us with open arms and shared their wisdom and experience. We are grateful for the volunteers who have labored alongside us, their dedication and selflessness a constant source of inspiration. And most importantly, we are thankful to God, who has orchestrated every step of our journey and continues to guide us with His loving hand.
Our story is not unique; it is one of many that have been woven into the fabric of Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch. It is a testament to the power of faith, the beauty of service, and the transformative impact of love. As we embark on this new adventure, we carry with us the prayers and support of our community, confident that God will continue to use us to bring hope and healing to the lives of children in need.
