God is Always Good and Always Faithful

It’s amazing how much we can pack into one summer and have it all fly by so quickly. Since school got out in May, we’ve crammed in summer sports practices, summer jobs, church camp, four weeks of work groups, and NYR. It has all flown by. It’s almost like God presses the throttle on Planet Earth a little harder during these times. But in the midst of this fast-paced life at Shiloh, the last 10 1/2 years have shown me that God is always good and always faithful. He supplies everything needed to be a houseparent and carry out this ministry. We are so very blessed in this place. Misty and I can’t thank you enough for all of the prayers and support we receive. The kids are well taken care of.

Speaking of kids, we currently have eight in our home. Next week we will be placing another one, a 15-year-old boy named Wyatt. More on him in the next article. We didn’t have a high school graduate this year, but we have two that will graduate after this school year, Bella and Brooklynn. Bella is in her last year of high school softball. I say last year of high school because college level softball is a possibility. She’s a very talented player. She also does well academically. This summer, as well as last summer, she’s worked a nearby church camp helping out and doing some life guarding. She’s managed to put a little money away for the upcoming years of adult life. Prayers for Bella.

Brooklynn is ramping up for another season of varsity football cheer. She loves every minute of it. She had a little accident at NYR that dislocated her pinky finger that prevented the clapping necessary for cheerleading. That didn’t stop her. She pushed through, modifying of course. As of today, her finger is much better. This summer she’s had a part time job at a local grocery store in Macon. She’s looking forward to her last year of high school. Prayers for her.

Ethan will be junior this year. His summer has been busy with football practices and weights. He recently received his driver’s license, which is nice because he can drive to those practices now. He’ll be playing varsity for South Shelby. Ethan has a great faith in our Lord. Prayers for safety on the football field.

Samentha will be a sophomore this year at South Shelby. She’s the track star/runner of the family. I’m happy to let her have that title. Cross country practices will be starting shortly, and she couldn’t be more eager to get going. Sam does very well in school. She has a simple joyful faith in Jesus that’s neat to see every day. Prayers for Sam on her sophomore year.

Devin will be an 8th grader this year at South Shelby Middle School. Devin has hit his growth spurt. Since last year at this time, he’s grown several inches. He’s always been a reserved kid. He still is but he’s also come out of his shell a little bit. It’s neat to see. He plays football on  the South Shelby middle school team. He just finished sum- mer football camp. Football practice for the season will start soon. Prayers for him in this last year of Middle School.

Kendall will be 7th grader this year at Shiloh Christian School. He’s never met a Lego creation that he didn’t love. He’s a builder and fixer type. He likes to work on his bike, and anything that requires simple tools. He likes to stay ac- tive. He spends a lot of time with the neighbor kids around Shiloh. Prayers for him as he enters another school year. Focusing on school can be a bit a challenge sometimes.

Larry will be 6th grader at Tri County Christian School in Macon. Larry is the comedian of the family, or at least he tries to be anyway. A lot of times we laugh, but a lot of times we smile and shake our heads and correct and disciplined when we must. He’s very smart and has a quick wit. He never misses a chance to go to the library because he devours books. He reads a large book about every week. He loves to swim at the pond and loves root beer and also BBQ sauce. Prayers for Larry’s 6th grade year.

Julianna is our 5th grader. She will be at our Shiloh Christian School this year. She is our buzzing, little never-stop-taking socialite. Her favorite thing to do is be in- volved in everything that goes on. If there’s people there, she’s there. You can often find her hanging out with the new neighbor girls, the Ellermets’ daughters. She loves to be outside, loves animals, and swimming at the pond. Prayers for her focus on school coming up.

Prayers for Misty and me as we embark upon another school year. The fall months are chocked full of sporting events that we will be trying to get to.

As stated above, God is always good and always faith- ful. We see that every day. You have our prayers for your home churches and individual ministries. Thank you again for all your prayers and support for what we do at Shiloh.

Gratefully, Todd & Misty Kolars
