This Means Our Attendance From Last Year Has Doubled…
When we look at calendars, I used to the three months or so off from school went slow…well, NOT ANYMORE! Hard to believe as I write this, we are already in VBS time and kids have already begun practices for school sports! (And my husband has begun reminding us all just how many days until school starts?!)
Relief time with kiddos lately has involved a lot of time at the pond fishing or swimming…. or getting to dive into the camp pool and cool off…. frog hunting…. disc golf…. LOTS of catching up on mowing, and time….and just life together…and it seems our ice cream stash is depleted a lot faster lately.
Ken did some traveling for Shiloh at churches and church camp this summer sharing about our ministry, feeling blessed to be able to visit supporters and deliver “thank-yous” in person. One place he visited was Gasconade Christian Camp, where he grew up as a camper….planting seeds in him for the ministry we are in now! One day while he was there, I joined him along with his Mom, Leah (our oldest daughter), and her three daughters. Lots of wonderful memories thrown around, all evidence of four generations of faith and God’s faithfulness! The dean found out we were needing more desks in our school on site and challenged the campers to put their offering to buying some. The campers and faculty warmed our hearts when they provided funds for four of them!!! We will think of them often as we see those desks set up in our classrooms this fall!

Our sites have filled up a lot this summer and it’s a joy to get to know all the newbie kiddos! Looking forward to getting to know quite a few of them even better when school starts as all the new kids will start out here at SCS first. This means our attendance from last year has doubled… which has meant some rearranging, revamping classrooms, and more!
Well, still lots of things to conquer today so until next time, blessings to you all for the work done around here this summer…. for the support through VBS programs …. for your notes of encouragement and especially for your covering us with prayer!

In His service, Ken & Beth Penfield
