In March we Took a Field Trip to a Local Trampoline Park and Had a Blast

Hard to believe we are approaching the end of school in just a matter of weeks!! Lots of PACEs to finish up….electives to try….archery lessons to finetune….and start wrapping up another year in the books!

We got to have some special events this quarter at SCS…… in March we took a field trip to a local trampoline park and had a blast! Seeing our kiddos use so much energy on the variety of activities offered and just being kids made it all worth it!!!

Each Thursday we have a chapel service where we are led by a variety of speakers….from our housedads to area ministers….and this past month we had one of our work group leaders come all the way from Indiana! So blessed  to have Matt and his sweet wife, Amanda, join us as Matt led music, challenged us from his heart about God’s Word, and they both joined us for lunch. Love watching God at work through so many people as they touch the lives of our students (and all of us staffers as well!!)

This month we had ssssssspecial visitors! Yep! You guessed it! SNAKES! We had two wonderful Missouri Conservation Agents teach us about Missouri snakes, answer tons of questions, and even let us touch their two fine wiggly critters! (Bet you can guess what the topic of discussion during school breaks were for several days!!!)

It’s been exciting watching our housedads work with our students in our archery program! I often watch from my office as our students recite the steps…..take a stance….and shoot at the target with growing confidence. It has proven to be more than a sport as I watch the discipline it takes to shoot can project into so many other areas of life. Looking forward to how this will grow even more this next school year!

We want each student to feel they are loved and welcome, not bullied or judged…

We had some new students arrive this quarter, so our classrooms have become even more lively! Please continue to pray for our school staff, students, and for the ability to finish strong. We feel so blessed being able to offer an education that meets every student right where they are and continues to pour into them academically and spiritually to help them grow. Thank you for the part you play in allowing that to happen!

We do it because of that word again….LOVE. We want each student to feel they are loved and welcome, not bullied or judged……to see us as a staff that represents Jesus in our talk and our walk….to live out as Jesus LOVED…..so THEY can learn, can live, and LOVE as He did!
