Our Greatest Prayer is That the Holy Spirit Will Work on Each of Their Hearts
The cool breeze of fall is in the air – a gentle reminder of change and renewal. While we may never have all the answers for the pain our children have faced, at Shiloh, they are given something powerful: a fresh start. A place to heal, grow, and be surrounded by care and hope. This environment of healing and hope is only available by the gracious provision of our Heavenly Father working through all of you who support the ministry of Shiloh. Through your prayers, support, donations, love, and words of encouragements, we are able to do what we do here! As we continue to disciple and guide our children through everyday life, our greatest prayer is that the Holy Spirit will work on each of their hearts, open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and that their souls would be saved.

As we enter a season focused on thanksgiving, we are thankful to have had a good start to the school year. Xavier, Reese, Riley, Evie, and Ronnie are all attending school on-site. We are grateful for the Penfield’s, Mrs. Mason, Mr. Jones, and Mrs. Gardner and their willingness to meet the educational needs of our children through a Biblical worldview and to maintain consistency in behavioral and relational expectations. Hunter, Hope, Emmalee, and Paxton have settled back into homeschool life and are especially enjoying topics of world geography, human anatomy, astronomy, and sign language.
As we enjoy the cooler weather of a new season, we are grateful for summertime labor turning into a bountiful harvest of six deer since the start of hunting season. Brian and the kids have worked many hours in the spring and summer to prepare the land – taking opportunity to learn about conservation, reaping and sowing, and working hard to prepare for the future. That hard work has paid off in exciting hunting adventures and freezers getting filled.

Reflecting over the busy summer months, we’ve enjoyed family visits, a trip to the trampoline park, the Shiloh Picnic and Pool Party, Open House, back to school shopping, a trip to our hometown, fishing and frog-gigging expeditions, and more. We are looking forward to making many more memories with our kiddos throughout the upcoming holiday season!

As we wrap up our fall update, we are grateful that God does not leave us on our own. “When He purposes to build, He seeks for a ruin. When He plans to plant a garden, He starts in the desert.” This quote from Patricia St. John reminds us that God will take our brokenness and turn it into something beautiful for His glory.
