Dumbstruck by God’s Word

YYou’re with family and a horde of frantic people, in the dark, trying to safely get away from a pending calamity when a wild-eyed octogenarian raises a huge stick above his head and that vast body of water before you suddenly…. ain’t there!
How do you feel in that Exodus 14 moment?
You hurry through the Red Sea on dry ground only to hear the rumble of Egyptian chariots advancing to recapture you, and that same old man with the stick gestures back towards the former seabed-turned-superhighway, and the vast army of soldiers just…ain’t there!
What are your thoughts in that verse 27 & 28 snippet of time? You didn’t do any of the actual delivering of millions to safety. You were the recipient of the miracle. You were an eyewitness to something so indescribable.

Words like “thankful”, “grateful”, “awestruck”, “dumbfounded” and “blessed” seem inadequate to describe the series of events leading up to the moving of Almighty God.
Welcome to my world for the past 18 months.
After a five-year drought of qualified inquiries to fill the growing need for Homeparents, our Board of Trustees moved by faith to combine our two Shiloh locations to the Clarence site, sell the Kahoka homes and acreage, and begin to build more homes for more children. They knew we didn’t have any prospective couples to actually fill those homes, but they trusted that God would move and provide the people we need.
Since early March, we have added the Starks to a newly built home and in the next six months we will also welcome the Fitzgerald and Ellermets families to our Shiloh Family!
Until I find the right words to describe what this feels like to be standing in the middle of all this: “Glory to God!”

Cherish the Day!
